Heart Attacks and Drinking Warm Water

For those who like to drink cold water, this is a very important information. It is advised to drink slightly warm water after your meal to prevent the danger of a heart attack. The Chinese and Japanese drink hot green tea with their meals, not cold water, maybe it is the time we adopt their drinking habit while eating as heart disease being one of the biggest killers in the western world.

Heart Attack

For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down digestion. Once this "sludge" reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fat and may lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

Heart Attack Symptoms

You should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting. Be aware of intense pain in the jawline.

You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack. Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms. 60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up. Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let’s be careful and aware. The more we know, the better chance we could survive.

Heart Attack Information

A heart attack occurs when the blood flow to a part of the heart is suddenly and permanently cut off, causing permanent damage to the heart muscle. Chest pain is typically severe and does not go away with rest or medicine that is effective with angina. Symptoms may indicate your heart is in danger many months or years before a heart attack occurs. Persistent symptoms, such as shortness of breath, nausea, great fatigue, angina/chest pain, fainting spells, and gas-like discomfort, are red flags.

  • 1 in 3 adults, both men, and women, has some form of cardiovascular disease.
  • In 90% of adult victims of sudden cardiac death, two or more major coronary arteries are narrowed or blocked.
  • Brain death and permanent death start to occur in just 4-6 minutes after someone experiences cardiac arrest.
  • It is in the early or initial stage that heart disease is almost certainly treatable.
  • The heart and brain muscles are the ones that cannot be revived once dead.
  • For a large number of patients, the first and only symptom of heart disease is a fatal heart attack. Thus diagnosis becomes extremely important for everyone and that too pre-emptive and non-invasive.

Heart Care RibbonNote: Please do not post comments asking for the scientific research behind this information. I’ve clearly stated in the paragraph above that this is no scientific research found about drinking warm water to prevent heart attacks and it may be an urban myth. As I mentioned above I am not sure of the origin of the information but it does illicit some questions and causes for further research. Please do your research and draw your own conclusions. By the way, I have also learned from various sources that it may be best not to drink any fluid (water or otherwise) during or directly after a meal as it dilutes naturally occurring digestive enzymes.

  1. Animal fat is what causes heart attacks. Stop eating red meat and go find iron through green leafy vegetables or beans & you wont have cardiac arrest. Instead of handballing the problem onto cold drinks, fix the problem and stop consuming so much animal fat! Our arterys cannot deal with the fat content in red meat as we eat too muich of it and that is what causes our arterys to block. All those people who consume red meat believeing its the only source of proper iron are wrong. Red meat does no good to human body. Eating red meat is giving open invitation to severe dieseases such as cardiac arrest and cancer. Please wake up & smell the roses.

  2. Sorry, as a cardiac nurse, the only information in this article that is true is the signs and symptoms of a heart attack. The rest is not real, and has no scientific evidence. Anyone who offers health data should be responsible enough to offer the right data.

  3. A high fat diet is a risk for heart disease, and now there are people out there who think if they just have some warm water they’ll be fine (as some of the comments below imply). Avoid eating high fat diet and do some exercise daily to keep your body healthy.

  4. Warm water has nothing to do with the metabolism of fats inside the body.

  5. Drinking hot water makes sense. If you eat fatty food, the fat gets coated down your neck to intestine walls. The hot water helps in melting those fat. In ayurveda (vedic studies) we are told to drink normal water after an hour after meals. It helps in digestion. Regarding heart attack symptom , I had similar symptom few months back. Rushed to the hospital and found Vitamin B12 deficiency which was affecting my Red Blood Cell counts.

  6. I can tell you from experience that my mother was diagnosed with heart problems when she was forty seven, and spent many weeks in hospital. Her doctor recommended she drank a cup of warm water every morning, as this would help. No real reason was ever given, and she still has heart problems, but is an active eighty four year old now, and still drinking a cup of warm water every morning, Maybe it does work, I think it must, and my mother certainly believes in it.

  7. I am not aware about chinese tea. But in the case of cold/hot water, it is not at all true. Anything you drink will be first brought to body temperature when it reaches the intestine. After that it will be digested and the energy will be sent to the other parts.

  8. this information will keep me healthier than what i would have been otherewise. Million thanks.

  9. This article makes no connection between warm water and heart attacks. It mentions cancer but even then makes no real connection. Food sits in your stomach too long to be effected by the temperature of anything you eat, and this article fails to mention research that backs it’s claims. Why is that important? Because for those individuals who drink chilled water to make it more palatable may read this article and decide to drink less water overall. I say the benefits of drinking more water outweigh the benefits of drinking warm water, but that’s just my humble opinion.

  10. Thanks a lot, these has been helpful to me and i will also let my friends know about it to remain healthy.

  11. My daughter sent this to me. I am glad she did. I have always heard to drink water with ice in it to help speed you metabolism. I will be drinking the warm water from now on. Thank you!

  13. Hello All! Very nice job! RESPECT

  15. It was great and I want to know more about heart attacks.

  16. Thank You for shareing this emai about drinking hot water or soup with meals. I’ve been doing that for most my adult life and I hardly gain weight. A few of my best friends have weight problems and interstingly they all have ice cold drinks with meals. I’ve also been aware of Chinese folks having hot drinks with meals. Thanks again.

  17. If it is a myth then you have nothing to gain nor lose. If it is not you have everything to gain. So why not do it until it is a proven fact. Warm drinks certainly will not hurt us and it logically makes sense-- rinse your dishes with cold water and you get a white residue, hot water and you get a clean plate!

  18. I agree with the article that you wrote. I have problems with acid reflux and I started a while ago drinking hot coffee or hot tea and found out that I don’t have problems with acid reflux like I use too. Thanks for the information on warm drinks and heart attack.

  19. Drink a glass of warm water also before meal, because it fills our stomach quickly so we avoid of eating too much. As an asian, I used to drink a lot of warm water all day long. I don’t like cold drink and ice. I believe warm water disabsorbed fat.

  20. I’m not a cardiologist but I am an exercise physiologist specializing in cardiac rehab and this article might make sense in theory, however, I truely doubt the temperature of water effects the fat we eat. The body’s internal temperature is 98.6 degrees and that is warm enough to liquify any fat that might have solidified from cold water. The real fix is to avoid unhealthy saturated fats in the first place, have adequate fiber intake, and the biggest one is EXERCISE. This is your best bet to avoid cardiovascular traumas and some studies have shown to also prevent cancer.

  21. Cold water delay the process of digestion of the food and of high risk especially in late meals when heart attacks takes place while sleeping as the blood supply for the whole body decrease as blood accumulated in the GIT for a while "Including the heart muscle blood supply" which can make it worth for the heart attack.... decrease the movement of the intestine so increase fat absorption and add more weight... warm water fasten digestion and intestinal movement and without meal have a diuretic effect which is helpful for blood pressure and many other things. I think that warm "Not hot" water have another properties ionization wise even if it turned cold after drinking it with few minutes.

  22. Thanks for this information. At first I thought that this was wrong drinking hot stuff and stop doing it. But now I would continue drinking my hot water before and after. Thanks again & I hope we all take this seriously.

I’ve learned that half the stuff I read from the internet is incorrect, although it’s made to sound quite believable. Where did this information originate? I’d like someone to convice me because it sounds like a good advice.

  24. It really makes great sense. I always wondered why my friends who live in Mexico never would have ice in their tea, juice, or water, always "al tiempo" as they call it, and they have always been in excellent health. I do like the ice in my drinks, but now I know, and I shall stop that routine, as I would love to keep on living healthy. Thanks so much.

  25. This is true about the pain in the arm not always happening during a heart attack also in the chest. I had neither symptom. I had what felt like a severe muscle spasm across the back and then a stomach cramp for part of the day. I could not get the spasm to go away and went to the hospital. It was a heart attack and I was hospitalised for a few days.

  55. I omit the ice in a glass of water because the ice was bothering my insides. Despite snopes.com it is worth experimenting to understand how your body reacts to real cold drinks.

  56. The body renders any fluid to body temperature, regardless of whether hot or cold but it will not draw extra blood to the stomach to accomplish this, as would be the case if drinking cold water or any cold drink. This the reason it is preferred to drink warm drinks in hot weather because it allows the blood to stay in the vessels of the periphery to maintain normal body cooling. That peripheral blood is reduced when needed to warm the stomach; thus rendering your body’s cooling system to be put on hold.
