Hopkins played 10 Twenty 20 Internationals, 25 ODI and 4 tests. In 158 first class matches, he had scored 7550 runs which include 34 half centuries and 17 centuries. Hopkins claimed 26 stumping and 435 catches.

Akademi Ratna, the Fellowship, was conferred on Dr. Kanak Rele, R. Sathyanarayana, and Mahesh Elkunchwar. The Fellows received a cash purse of Rs 3 lakh. The awards for overall contribution andscholarship in the performing arts were presented to Mysore V. Subramanya and N. Ramanathan.

The EC also directed the chief secretary to ensure that no act of commission or omission is resorted to by BJP leader Amit Shah and UP Minister Azam Khan that can affect public tranquility and law and order.
