Garlic - The Natural Medicine of High Blood Pressure

Garlic is a natural remedy for the treatment of high blood pressure. A recent study by Australian scientists found that an excellent tool for solving problems of high blood pressure is garlic.

A 12-week trial was held, which involved 50 people. Researchers found that those who took the garlic extract in the form of dietary supplement capsules, blood pressure was lower.

Approximately 1 billion people worldwide suffer from high blood pressure. High blood pressure is a major risk factor for developing coronary heart disease, strokes, heart failure, peripheral vascular disease and renal failure.

"For thousands of years in Ayurvedic medicine, garlic is used as a means of lowering blood pressure, but our study was the first, proving the feasibility of garlic as a medicine", said Karen Reid, lead author of the University of Adelaide.

Garlic is available in many forms, including natural cloves, garlic powder and garlic paste. In addition, garlic supplements are available in convenient pill form, offering all the benefits of garlic, with none of the unpleasant aroma. Garlic supplements are widely available in health food stores, grocery stores and on the internet.
