  1. International Day of Forests was observed by the United Nation on 21 March 2014. World Forestry Day or International Day of Forests is celebrated worldwide every year on 21st of March at the international level in order to increase the public awareness among communities about the values, significance and contributions of the forests to balance the life cycle on the earth. In 1971, the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), declared 21 March as World Forestry Day.
  2. India to take on Pakistan in opening match of ICC Twenty-20 Cricket World Cup in Dhaka today.
  3. India defeated its rival Pakistan by 7 wickets in ICC world T 20 in opening group league match. This match was held at Sher-e-Bangla stadium, Dhaka.
  4. International Hockey Federation introduces 4-quarter format in Hockey; New rules to be implemented from September.
